A full length sizing die is engineered to resize the entire cartridge case, as opposed to only the neck. In contrast to neck-sizing dies, which exclusively resize the neck portion, full length sizing dies offer versatility and are compatible with any rifle chambered for the same cartridge. Upon firing a cartridge, the brass case expands to conform to the rifle's chamber. Although the case contracts slightly after firing, it may not revert to its original dimensions.
